There is life beyond work.

I like to step away from
the computer sometimes,
I have my own hobbies,
and I am also an active parent.

About me

Hello, my name is Grzegorz.

After many years of working in another industry, I changed my career to become a Java Developer. I am 38 years old and have a stable life, I don't chase anything or get distracted by anything, I can finally do what I love. I enjoy programming. Sometimes when learning new things I lose track of time, but I get great satisfaction from it. I had to achieve everything in life on my own, but it shaped my character, I am determined and willing to work. I don't like changing jobs often, I appreciate the nice atmosphere. Outside of work, I also teach children programming as a Coding Tutor. I teach mainly Scratch and Python. I treat it more as a hobby, because I like children and passing on knowledge. In this job, I managed to combine them. At the same time, I improve my soft skills.

I have been associated with another industry for many years, but the lack of development opportunities made me decide to change. I signed up for the Kodilla - Java Developer Plus bootcamp. It quickly turned out that programming was what I really wanted to do in life. After completing the course with excellent results, I continue to develop. I'm not a demanding bootcamper, I know I still have a lot to learn. I also benefited from private mentoring. I spend several hours a day studying, practically a second job, but I get real satisfaction from it. My English is at level B1 - B2, but I learn every day, I know it's a necessity. I also started postgraduate studies in JavaScript Developer, I want to expand my knowledge of JavaScript, React and Angular.

I encourage you to check out my projects here or on Github, where I describe them in detail in the README files. I tried to make each one a little different. For practical learning, I emphasized the use of various technologies, e.g. Docker, docker-compose, and various databases, e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL.

My best project DogShelterFriend has a demo version -  LINK.

In my free time, I like to go to various programming conferences, e.g. Confitura. I also attend Java User Group and meet.js meetings in Białystok.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, I love taking care of the garden, and the sound of the lawnmower relaxes me :)
