Yesterday I spent over 6 hours setting up my website. I’ve never configured NGINX settings before. In fact, until yesterday I didn’t know what it was or what it was for. Today I know. I also know that ChatGPT can sometimes give you a bad idea or inappropriate configuration. I ended up changing the settings in /etc/nginx/sites-available/ to what seemed correct to me. The website worked, I informed my GPT friend about it and he brazenly spat out the entire configuration file with the settings I proposed and tested successfully. Even more ironically, he added “you can try these settings…”. Nice, but I already know it 🙂
