Hello Java fans!
Meeting No. 7 of the Bialystok Java User Group is behind us. Our friend from Britenet – Java Technical Leader Krzysztof, prepared a fantastic presentation entitled: Mr. Areczek, microservices are for the management, the monolith is for you.
LEFT JOIN RIGHT JOIN, REST JOIN, ARE YOU JOINING? 🤔 During the meeting, Krzysztof shared his thoughts after almost a year spent working on a microservice project. He touched on topics related to SQLBigData*, architecture and patterns, as well as looking at them from a practical perspective. I learned a lot of interesting things about when to create microservices and when it makes no sense. The issue of huge and often unnecessary application maintenance costs was also discussed, which was very interesting to me. Krzysztof gave us an interesting example of an application in which maintaining logs accounted for half of the total application maintenance costs.
It was a great opportunity to expand my knowledge, exchange experiences and meet other Java enthusiasts. It was an important event for me!
