IT project estimation – B-JUG Meetup

Gaining of knowledge

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a meetup entitled “Discussion on IT project estimation and the role of programmers in the estimation process.” The speaker was Krzysztof from Britenet, an experienced programmer and entrepreneur.

What was discussed?
Krzysztof began by presenting the general principles of IT project estimation. He discussed various factors to consider, such as project complexity, duration, required skills and experience, as well as current market rates. The speaker then focused on the role of programmers in the estimation process. He emphasized that programmers are crucial for accurately estimating the time and cost of project implementation. Krzysztof also discussed the technical and communication aspects of working with clients, sharing valuable tips on effectively communicating with clients and building trust.

From the meetup, I drew several key conclusions. I learned that IT project estimation is a complex process that requires consideration of many factors, and that programmers play a crucial role in the estimation process. Effective communication with the client is also very important.

I would like to thank Krzysztof for the interesting presentation. It was engaging, sometimes funny, but also instructive. It was a casual conversation, but it covered many topics unknown to me until now. I also want to thank the organizers of the meetup and the partners: Britent, OB PTI, and JetBrains.

The meeting was very interesting and instructive. I learned a lot about IT project estimation and the role of programmers in this process. Krzysztof’s presentation was very clear and contained many valuable insights. A license for IntelliJ was being raffled at the meetup; unfortunately, I didn’t win it, but maybe next time I’ll snag it. I recommend participating in future meetups organized by this group.
